"This is the best
barbecue ribs recipe ever"

Country Style Barbecue Spareribs Recipe

We hear that comment about this being "the best barbecue ribs recipe we've ever tasted" a lot. It's a close adaptation of the barbecue spareribs recipe of O.B.'s Board, a little restaurant in the quaint mountain town of Truckee, CA.

This is a terrific barbecue sauce recipe for ribs and any other meat or seafood. Spicy, sweet, and tangy all at once, it's our favorite all-around barbecue sauce recipe.

Enjoy!

Barbecue Grill Buying Guide

O.B.'s Country Style
Barbecue Spareribs Recipe

4 pounds country style ribs, beef or pork
Water to cover
Salt

O.B.'s Barbecue Sauce Recipe for Ribs

1 tablespoon butter
1-2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons minced onions
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon hot sauce
3 slices lemon

Simmer the ribs in salted water for about 20 minutes. Drain.

This is an optional step that releases a lot of the grease and speeds up the cooking time. If you prefer, just salt and pepper the ribs and grill them low and slow.

Combine all the barbecue sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a low boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

Place the ribs on a preheated barbecue grill or under the broiler and cook over/under medium heat until cooked through, about 20 to 30 minutes. Baste with the barbecue sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Oven Cooked Ribs Directions:

After simmering and draining the ribs, a must, place them in a shallow baking dish and bake at 350° for 20 to 40 minutes. Baste often with barbecue sauce.
