Nothing says 'easy barbecue' like the Garlic Grilled Shrimp Recipe. Just skewer it, season it, grill it, baste it once, and eat. Refrigerator to mouth in just 20 mouthwatering minutes.
Try Grilled Garlic Shrimp with a green salad and/or Roasted Red Potato Salad, (you can roast the red potatoes on the grill, if you like) Grilled Vegetables and, for dessert, Sand Cake.
3 lbs. peeled and de-veined shrimp or prawns, 21-25 count or larger,
Salt and pepper
1 cup melted butter
Lemon wedges, if desired
Thread both ends of the shrimp onto skewers through the back (deveined area) of the shrimp, forming a "C". Lightly season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Cook over a medium-hot grill for about three minutes each side, just until hot, firm and pink. Do not overcook. (You may need to adjust the cooking time for larger prawns.) Baste each side with melted butter shortly before they are finished cooking.
Note: *You can also prepare this recipe with fresh garlic. Just add 2 cloves minced fresh garlic, or to taste, to the butter before melting it; eliminate the granulated garlic. Baste the shrimp more than once with the garlic butter while cooking.
Garlic Grilled Shrimp is delicious as is, with lemon wedges, or, if you desire, with Dipping Sauce.
