Almost no occasion can't benefit from some great sandwich ideas. I sometimes even serve sandwiches for dinner parties, albeit casual ones.


Here are a few tricks I learned along the way:


  • For larger crowds, serve a variety of party sandwiches (as opposed to those things you throw in the kids' lunch boxes.)


  • When practical, cut the sandwiches into smaller portions, as you would for tea sandwiches. This really cuts back on waste and allows everyone to sample everything.


  • The kind of bread you use for your sandwiches is not written in stone (except for Reuben Sandwiches.) Use what you like, no matter what the recipe calls for.
