I know what you're going to say. When I tell you that the BLT Dip recipe calls for mayo (and sour cream), chopped tomatoes, and crumbled bacon on bread dippers you say, Hey, where's the L?
In this case, "L" stands for "presentation." You can serve BLT Dip on a bed of lettuce leaves or, better yet, in a hollowed out head of iceberg lettuce.
Pictured: BLT Dip on a bed of butter lettuce leaves with celery, crackers, and carrot sticks.
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of ground black pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion or chives
1 large tomato, seeded, drained and diced
1 pound bacon, crispy-cooked and crumbled or diced
all the ingredients together except the tomato and bacon. Chill until
it's time to serve. Just before serving, stir in the bacon and tomato. Or you can save a little back to use as a garnish on top.
Serve with toast points or quarters, or toasted pita triangles. Chips, scoops, crackers and crudités are good, too.
